Designer Dog Boutiques and the Eco-Friendly Dog

 

Now more than ever, people are choosing to live a “greener” life.  We know that the kinder we are to the earth, the longer the earth will be able to sustain our growing population.  In the last few years we’ve discovered simple and effective ways to reduce our impact on the environment.  For example, to name just a few, many of us now choose to use fabric shopping bags instead of plastic; we are more conscious of the amount of water we use in our everyday lives; we recycle and reuse what we can to help reduce the impact of landfills.  As dog owners, we can go even further and expand our eco-friendly living to include our dogs.  Many designer dog boutiques now make it very easy for our dogs to be just as eco-friendly as we are!

Many online designer dog boutiques are either entirely devoted to eco-friendly dog products, or at the very least have a good selection of eco-friendly products to choose from.  These boutiques have responded to the ever growing movement of living a “greener” life.  You’ll be able to find products that are made of recycled or organic materials which are better for the environment.  But don’t think for one minute that you’ll have to sacrifice on style or durability.  On the contrary, most designer dog boutiques carry products that are not only eco-friendly, but that are high quality as well.  Here are a few eco-friendly dog products you’ll be able to find at many designer dog boutiques:

1. Eco-Friendly Dog Beds:  Look for beds made with recycled or organic materials such as recycled plastic bottles or organic cotton.  
2. Eco-Friendly Dog Clothes:  As with people clothes, it’s fairly easy now to find clothes for your pooch that are made with organic cotton which has less of an impact on the environment.
3. Eco-Friendly Dog Shampoo:  Look for ingredients that are all natural or organic with no harsh     chemicals.  You’ll even be able to find effective flea shampoo made with ingredients like citronella which is a natural flea repellent.  
4. Organic Dog Food & Organic Gourmet Dog Treats:  As with shampoo, look for ingredients that are all natural or organic which have less of a negative impact on or environment.  In addition to being eco-friendly, these types of ingredients are also a much healthier alternative for your pooch!

As you can see, being an eco-friendly dog owner is not that difficult.  You may have to spend a bit more for some of these products, but the benefits outweigh the costs in my opinion.  Being eco-friendly is not only good for the earth, it also fosters a healthier way of living for you and your dog.  What greater gift can you give our earth and your pooch?
